Resolution to Expel House Member(s)!

Last week, the House Ethics Committee announced that it found substantial evidence to support the federal fraud indictment pending against Rep. Shiela Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL). Rep Steube (R-FL) said he will call up a resolution this week to force her expulsion from Congress.  It will require two-thirds majority support to pass and is expected to fail as Democrats will not support expulsion until the Committee concludes a trial on the matter currently scheduled for March 5. When Rep. Steube’s resolution comes to the floor, Democrats might offer their own expulsion resolution against Republican Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) who is under Ethics Committee investigation for allegations relating to campaign finance violations, misuse of congressional resources, and accusations of sexual misconduct.
