Reconciliation and BBB?
The Biden administration is working on a roughly $1 billion bill that would keep the climate measures of the Build Back Better (BBB), along with reducing the child tax credit and paid family leave provisions of BBB. Monthly payments of up to $300 per child expired on Friday, January 14th and a more modest child tax credit remains in place for the 2022 tax year. Beneficiaries can still claim half of the 2021 expansion that was not sent out in the monthly checks starting January 24th when tax filing season begins.
