ASA Continues to Draft Comments to OSHA’s Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Proposed Rulemaking

ASA, along with the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC), has been actively drafting a letter to OSHA regarding their Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM). OSHA is collecting information right now and this is the first step in the rulemaking process.  Our comments will focus on: proactive measures the construction industry has taken on heat illness; encouraging OSHA to actively engage with key construction industry stakeholders during the development of heat injury/illness standard; concerns with existing state heat rules (CA, WA, OR); and regulatory approaches must be simple and construction specific.  The comments are due January 26, 2022.
