This Week in Congress

This week was crunch time as Democrats in the House, Senate, and the White House face the October 31st deadline of determining the final cost of President Biden’s “Build Back Better” social safety net spending package.  An agreement could allow the House to pass a separate, $550 billion bipartisan infrastructure bill.  Progressive Democrats in the House have held up that legislation until there’s agreement within the party on the President’s broader package.  In the interim, the Senate held nomination votes and the House debated legislation on reauthorizing domestic violence prevention and services grants.
