The Construction Industry Procurement Coalition (CIPC) welcomed members of Congress, congressional staff, and construction industry leaders on Monday evening for its Annual Congressional Reception, recognizing the important work of the bipartisan House Construction Procurement Caucus and its continued commitment to improving federal construction procurement policies.

The well-attended event drew a strong turnout from congressional staff representing committees and offices with jurisdiction over federal construction, infrastructure, small business, transportation, and government contracting issues. The reception provided an opportunity for lawmakers, staff, and industry stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the construction sector while strengthening relationships between Congress and the organizations that build America’s infrastructure.

Among the organizations participating in the event was the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), a longstanding supporter of the House Construction Procurement Caucus and its efforts to promote fair, transparent, and efficient procurement practices throughout the federal construction marketplace.

The House Construction Procurement Caucus serves as a bipartisan forum dedicated to examining policies that impact federal construction contracting. Through education and collaboration with industry stakeholders, the caucus works to advance procurement reforms that improve project delivery, encourage competition, strengthen opportunities for contractors and subcontractors, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently.

Federal procurement policy continues to play a significant role in the construction industry, influencing everything from project delivery methods and contract administration to workforce development, payment protections, and small business participation. As Congress continues its oversight of federal infrastructure investments and considers future procurement reforms, the caucus provides an important venue for dialogue between policymakers and the construction community.

Monday evening’s reception underscored the industry’s appreciation for members of Congress who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the federal procurement process and highlighted the value of continued engagement between lawmakers and construction professionals. The strong attendance by congressional staff reflected the growing interest on Capitol Hill in construction procurement issues and the recognition that effective procurement policies are essential to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

As the construction industry continues to navigate evolving federal contracting requirements and increased infrastructure investment, organizations such as the Construction Industry Procurement Coalition and the American Subcontractors Association remain committed to working with the House Construction Procurement Caucus to advance policies that foster fairness, accountability, competition, and efficiency throughout the federal procurement system.
