This Week in Congress

This week, the House is session and the Senate is in recess. The House considered two pregnancy-related bills (H.R. 6359 and H.R. 6945), and a resolution (H. J. Res. 140), brought under the Congressional Review Act, to disapprove of a Bureau of Land Management rule restricting mining leases in northern Minnesota. Additionally, the House considered five measures out of the Small Business Committee, including a bill (H.R. 5763) exempting small businesses from having to contribute a larger share of the project cost for limited or single-purpose buildings financed by the Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program, and two bills (H.R. 5764 and H.R. 5784) intended to provide resources and training to small businesses for artificial intelligence systems, along with three bills reported out of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Finally, the House considered the final FY26 appropriations package.
