ASA Welcomes New 2023-2024 Board of Directors

As ASA’s new fiscal year starts on July 1, we welcome and thank the incoming members of our Board of Directors for their service. We would also like to encourage our members to become active in your local chapters and at the national level. Any progress and success we have is due to your involvement, persistence, and passion. Please help us welcome our new Board of Directors:

Brad Miller, of Midwest Crane & Rigging in Olathe, KS, will be taking over the President’s chair on July 1, stepping into Rusty Plowman’s shoes. Brad took over his father's position in the local Chapter of ASA in 2005 and remains on the Advocacy Committee. We look forward to Brad’s leadership and guidance.

Ray Moya, of Prime Electric in Albuquerque, NM, will be Vice President. Ray has been an equal owner of Prime Electric since its inception in 1998 but has worked for electrical companies since the start of his career in 1980. Ray has been a member of ASA since 2000 and was on the BoD for ASA New Mexico for six years, including President. He has been on the ASA National Board of Directors since 2017.

Andrew Christ, of Compass Constructors in Parkville, MO, will be ASA National’s new Secretary/Treasurer. He has been active in the commercial construction industry since 2004, and became an ICC Accredited Commercial Building Inspective in 2010. He currently serves as Vice President for the ASA of Greater Kansas City.

Tony Vermaas, of Sobie Company in Dutton, MI, ASA’s new Executive Committee Member-at-Large, has been Sobie’s President/CEO and CFO for the Sobie Company since 2016. He’s been active in the local West Michigan chapter of ASA since 2016, serving in various officer positions, including President. He is also a current board member of the ABC West Michigan chapter and has served in that capacity since January of 2017.

 

Several new Directors are joining the Board to serve both 2-year and 3-year terms starting in July

2-Year Terms (2023-2025):

  • Marni Goodrich, the Business Manager for Yearout Mechanical, in Albuquerque, NM, has 22 years’ experience working in the construction industry. Ms. Goodrich served on the Board of Directors for ASA New Mexico for 10 years and served two terms as President for the local chapter.
  • Jennifer Church, of United Rentals in St. Louis, MO, has more than 20 years in the construction industry. She was President of the St. Louis/Midwest Council Chapter from 2019-2020 and has served on their Board for many years. She founded the ASA Women’s Council – She’s Built for This! Jennifer published a collaborative book with other women, which is a best-seller both in the United States and Internationally.

3-year Terms (2023-2026):

  • Jeremy Pearce, of Title Concrete Company, in Oklahoma City, OK, has more than 20 years of experience in commercial/industrial concrete. Jeremy has served on the board of directors for ASA Oklahoma as well as serving on workforce development, membership, and activities committees. He was Vice President in 2017-18 and President for the 2018-19 term before returning to the board in 2021.
  • Dick Roberts is the founder and president of DTR Landscape Development in Phoenix, Arizona for 43 years. He has been a leader in improving education, safety, and women’s participation in the construction industry. He helped to establish the ASA University in the Arizona Chapter of ASA to benefit all subcontractors throughout the state and was the director of the local chapter for the previous two years.
