ASA President’s Letter—January 2018
Dear ASA Members,
I’ll try to keep this short, as undoubtedly you have football to watch or better things to do like spend time with your family today!
I am happy to announce that Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan has agreed to join us during breakfast on Thursday, March 1 during SUBExcel 2018 in Tempe, Ariz. Secretary Reagan will talk with us about construction trade workforce development and what her leadership council is working on. We are excited to have her with us and I hope you all will plan to come to SUBExcel 2018 to hear what she has to say.
I also want to remind you that the early-bird deadline to register and the cutoff date to make a hotel room reservation in the ASA room block is Jan. 31. This month is going to fly by. I encourage you to register soon, so you’re not scrambling at the last minute to make hotel and travel accommodations.
Finally, there have been a few schedule changes—notably that we have added Stephane McShane from Maxim Consulting Group to the program on Thursday afternoon. She always does a great job and we are fortunate to have her again this year! She will present “Lean Transformations” from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Also, Griff Hall’s workshop on “Riding an Elephant: Harnessing the Dual Challenges Leading for Impact While Managing Complexity” has been moved from Thursday afternoon to 10:45 a.m. to noon on Friday. We’ve also added Bryan Bernardo, LEED-AP, from Kitchell Contractors to the education program. He will present “Trending Now: Lean Construction Top 10 Topics” from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
SUBExcel 2018 will take place from Feb. 28-March 3 at Tempe Mission Palms. For the most up-to-date schedule, visit www.subexcel.com.
I’d like to wish you a Happy New Year and best wishes for a safe and successful 2018!
