Giving Opportunities ASA Programming:
Subcontractors Legal Defense Fund — The SLDF fights for critical subcontractor rights in the courts on issues as diverse as pay-if-paid clauses, mechanic’s liens, construction defect, indemnification, additional insured, and warranty. The SLDF is dedicated to ensuring that the subcontractor perspective is heard by appellate courts across the country.
ASA-Political Action Committee —The American Subcontractors Association Political Action Committee (ASA-PAC) is a critical link between ASA members and their legislators in Washington, D.C. ASA-PAC funds are used to contribute to the election campaigns of federal lawmakers who support subcontractor-friendly federal policy. The ASA-PAC exists to give the American subcontractor a voice when policy decisions such as these are being made.
ASA-Political Action Committee Administrative Fund — Whereas donating to ASA-PAC funds contributions to candidates, Administrative Fund donations fund the overhead for operating the PAC.
Note: ASA-PAC can only accept personal contributions, but the Administrative Fund can accept corporate contributions.
Cornerstone Club — The Cornerstone Club provides discretionary funds for new and exciting initiatives. The money raised works like a hedge fund to seed pilot programs, create new opportunities, and allow ASA to take advantage of situations where a quick response is required.
Chapter Scholarship Fund — The ASA Chapter Scholarship gives chapters with limited financial resources, or chapters that have not yet committed funds to ASA national meetings, an opportunity to send representatives to national meetings. Donors can help ensure that all chapters are represented at national meetings so volunteer leaders and staff can understand the importance of these events and budget for attendance in the future.
Note: Contributions to ASA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions, but may be deductible as a business expense.
FASA Programming:
FASA General Fund — The Foundation of the American Subcontractors Association is recognized as the source for education and information on emerging trends in the construction industry. FASA works to improve the business practices in the construction industry through research, education and the dissemination of information. The ideals and belief of FASA are ethical and equitable business practices, quality construction, a safe and healthy work environment and integrity.
Contractors’ Knowledge Quest — Contractors’ Knowledge Quest is a program for commissioning and funding research on issues of importance to construction subcontractors and specialty trade contractors. Prior projects have included research on retainage and electronic reverse auctions.
Note: Contributions to FASA are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
